When it comes to heritage number plates there are some digits which are worth more than others.
At the top of this list (aside from the single digit ‘1’) is the number 8.
Plates which include the number 8 always attract higher prices at auction, and those with multiple or repeating 8s are even more desirable.
So the plates 8, 88, 888, 8888, 88888 and 888888 must be some of the most valuable right?
They sure are, and reportedly every single one of these plates (in NSW) are owned by the same lucky person!
We’re also lucky enough to have photos of every one of these plates.
UPDATE: We’ve been told that the above rumour is not true, at least not when you include the 8888 plate. The other 8 plates may still have the same owner however.
