Event: 2016 Shannons Melbourne Autumn Classic Auction
Date: 2 May 2016
Location: 321 Warrigal Road, Cheltenham, Victoria
Twelve Victorian heritage number plates were to be offered at this auction, although one plate (81441) was withdrawn prior to the auction.
The standout result would have to be the 4-digit 1212 achieving an outstanding $77,000. This is the highest priced 4-digit that I’ve seen at auction.
675 reached an impressive $106,000, presumably due to the McLaren 675LT.
The full results are detailed below. If the number appears as a link you can follow it to our photo of the plate on a car.

Twelve Victorian heritage number plates will be offered at this auction, evenly split across 3-digit, 4-digit and 5-digit plates.
None of the plates particularly stand out. 556 is a nice looking combo, and 675 might get some extra love thanks to the McLaren 675LT.
All of the 4-digit plates have appealing features. 1212 is a nice pattern, 4580 could appeal to Ferrari 458 owners, 6111 is a nice looking plate with three ones after the thousand separator, and 8883 has the sought after triple-eight inclusion.
