Event: 2014 Shannons Sydney Winter Classic Auction
Date: 25 August 2014
Location: 65 Reserve Road, St Leonards, NSW
Six NSW heritage plates and three motorcycle heritage plates were offered at the auction
The highest priced plate was 321 which sold for an impressive $102,000.
Interestingly the lowest number on offer – 292 – attracted the equal lowest price of $78,000. Most of the other 3-digit plates, including the very high 987, were sequential combinations, so it would certainly seem that buyers were prepared to pay a significant premium for sequential combinations rather than low numbers.
